‘This is sheer madness. the people that are already citizens will be put on the back burner for US businesses that are at least 50+ to choose illegals over the citizens. Basically if you hire a citizen over one of the new 11 million legalized you (the business owner) will be penalized $5000 per head!’

            Not only did they ensure we got another four years of Obama trashing our country, the left and the Obama machine was laughing their butt off at them! Obama’s machine hired Canadians to spread this ‘vote third party’ or stay home if you don’t get a ‘true’ conservative on the general ballot! They funded it, they funded the candidates (often with the candidate even knowing where the money was coming from). I still bristle when I think of the comments that Rush Limbo was making about Romney and which some of the lowly educated evangelical people continued to believe. “…. and Romney is not even a Christian… he is a Mormon.” Very disappointing to know how ill educated some voters in the US are. Many of these people stayed at home and did not vote because of Rush saying that Romney was not a Christian….. so what did we get? Some contend that the current man in the White House is Muslim???? I don’t know… but that is what happened when people stay home from voting for the most conservative of the two.

            McCain and Romney both supported much of what Obama is doing including NSA spying and measures like the NDAA 2012. McCain supports Al Qaeda in Syria. Johnson has more integrity then both those two combined. If Republicans aren’t serious about smaller government then they should stop claiming they do.             again. The republicans are accumulating too many candidates who will use campaign funds to fight one another and divide the party as they waste the campaign funds against each other; Hillary will likely be the sole democrat candidate (no division) and will have all campaign funds intact. We all need to work hard to get new conservatives elected. BUT if we end up with an establishment Republican on the general ballot we need to get them elected and the continue our work getting more conservatives elected. BTW, there were record tax cuts for EVERYONE and jobs were booming under Bush, until idiots decided to believe the media and put Democrats in charge of both the Senate and the House the last two years of the Bush administration! Then the country went down the tubes in a hurry didn’t it! TARP was terrible for the country, but it was passed by a Democratic majority in the House and Senate…and yes, some idiot Republican’s voted for it too, but at least they didn’t ALL vote for it as the Dems did!
            Conservatives proved that they could move the country in the right direction in 2010, but we didn’t do it by voting for a third party in the general election…we did it by putting our good conservative candidates on that general election ballot by working our tails off for them during the primaries! Voting third party during the general election does nothing but ensure that the most left leaning person on the ballot wins the election! Take a good look at what happened in VA during the last Governors election. Terry McAuliffe won, and Democrats took over everything BECAUSE of fools who voted for a third party candidate that turned out to have been funded by the LEFT! And that is AFTER conservatives turned out to vote in record numbers…but there was just enough percentage of people fooled by that third party libertarian candidate to prevent the true conservative from winning!
            Why do people like you not understand that this whole idea of voting third party was STARTED by the Obama machine! They have a whole computer company up in Canada posting the idea that nothing will change if we vote for the most electable conservative on the general ballot…and then they work hard to convince everyone that the most electable isn’t really a conservative!             I am not any happier with the way things are in our voting system as most of you. However I feel we need to win the battle first. We have to take back Congress. Then we have to get the WH. THEN we need to reorganize the voting system. If we conservatives (constitutionalists) are not in charge we cannot do a damn thing. We have to put good true constitutionalists up for election. Get Rove and those like him out of the paying off of candidates. Say Ron Paul had managed by some miracle, to win the Republican primary…do you think he would have won? Of COURSE NOT! In fact, Obama would have won 49 states! Whether we like it or not, we need to get someone who is ELECTABLE on the ballot. That doesn’t necessarily mean an establishment GOP candidate, but it has to be someone that people will get enthusiastic about, someone who can bring in the money and the crowds. Someone like Sarah Palin (who I do not believe will ever run again), who turned out votes and brought in money hand over fist! And then we have to convince the majority of mainstream conservatives to ignore the media and the left when they trash them, because trash them they will! Ron Paul cannot win, Gary Johnson cannot win, even Ted Cruz cannot win because he was born in Canada and held Canadian citizenship until last year, inherited Cuban citizenship through his father who was still a Cuban citizen at the time of Ted’s birth AND merely inherited his American citizenship from his mother who was living in Canada at the time of his birth! After Obama…there is no way he is going to get main stream America’s vote!
            Perhaps someone like Trey Gowdy, a strong, well spoken conservative who has fought hard against the Obama administration, but has not received much negative attention from the media at this point, so people have not prejudged him.

            While we certainly should have voter ID laws, the real problem with vote fraud is not at the polls, it is in early ballot voting. There is no way to prove that the person who’s name is on that ballot actually voted on that ballot. In 2008 my son, who had never lived at this residence, received THREE absentee ballots at this address…and he was deployed in Iraq at the time! When I took them to headquarters and told them, no one even cared. Apparently they send out so many that no one keeps track of where they go or where they come back from. Early/absentee ballots should be notarized (after showing the notary a picture ID) or perhaps delivered to headquarters in person.

I was skeptical about his eligibility at one time also but after reading and re-reading the rules and requirements I finally understood them. He is eligible.

        The “U.S. Soil” part would include embassies and military bases outside the U.S. borders. I too believe the “natural born” clause restricts only the POTUS candidates to 2 citizen parents at the time of birth specifically to prevent a POTUS from having dividing loyalties.

        Obama is a walking example of the reason for this restriction. He was not raised in America by parents who understood and taught him the struggles of our Founding Fathers. He has no concept of American Exceptionalism. In fact, he hates everything America stands for and has been bent on tearing her apart and putting her down since Day 1.

          There are all sorts of social programs up and running in America and have been for longer than President Obama was here and they will still be here after he is gone. The ACA is another one of these programs. It might not be perfect at the jump but if Republicans had tried harder to *reasonably* amend or tweak the bill into something better rather than just trying to defund it out of existence we might not be in the position we are now. I’m not concerned about the numbers after a one month roll out even given the website issues. I know a lot of people, and they won’t buy something until they absolutely have to. End of enrollment period is not until March, I expect a lot of new sign ups by then. I also expect many to take the fine if it is cheaper for them, but eventually everyone will need access to healthcare, and if the only way to get it is through the ACA exchanges, they will go there, people will eventually get used to it and accept it, costs will go down in the long run.

    Ted Cruz’s claim is BS. . He exaggerates it based on lack of tax deductions on penalties.

    There are three scenarios where an employer might have to pay a penalty. In two of the three, the penalty is based on the number of full time employees, and it doesn’t matter whether they are newly legalized immigrants or unauthorized immigrants.

    The penalty is $3,000, not $5,000, for offering skimpy insurance versus no insurance. That penalty is based on the number of full time employees receiving an Obamacare subsidy. See chart on page 5 of CRS report:

    Cruz also fails to mention it’s been illegal since 1986 to discriminate against U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. If we accept that then we also must accept employers knowingly hiring unauthorized immigrants under present law, but few are ever prosecuted for that.

    Obamacare likewise bars unauthorized immigrants from subsidies. The gang of eight bill continues the same prohibition, extending it to newly legalized immigrants.

Now, I am healthy enough to work, and since I cannot live on $800/month disability, I NEED A JOB. So, it isn’t hard enough being 55, disabled and making a career change.     There is almost zero chance for a third party in this country and libertarians just need to understand that fact. The way the system is rigged (funding, primaries, shoot even ballot qualifying) prevents any credible third party initiative. Voting third party is the same as voting for the Democratic block.

    Voting isn’t enough. You have to actively get others to vote also. Republican turnout must be at all time high in 2014 and 16.

    I voted early and they ask if you are Republican or Democrat. They check you in and you go to your respective booth. There are some things on this ballot like should obamacare be repealed, a 2nd amendment question about more gun free zones, one about franchise tax and one more I forgot @David Cook you may be right about electoral process only counts, but get out and vote. Maybe I am delusional thinking my vote matters so be it.

    Are some of you really going to act all outraged by what Cruz is revealing about this legislation AND at the same time wag their fingers at those of us who voted for Paul and Johnson instead of Romney/Ryan when Mr. Paul “not so fiscally conservative” Ryan began pushing for this very legislation HARD in early 2013 just a few months after the 2012 election? Bottom line to the GOP, get a real candidate or bite me. You have to be kidding me if you think I would ever vote for people like that. You cannot “split” a vote you never had in the first place and if Romney is what conservatism is, then Libertarians have NOTHING in common with conservatives at all.

    The left has started a massive social media campaign. Posing as “conservatives” these people enter discussions like this one and even build large followings of conservative friends. Their goal is to convince people that they should only vote for a far right conservative who is usually in a third party. This was a very effective tactic during the last election and they tricked thousands of conservatives into staying home on election day or voting for some other candidate that had no chance of winning like Ron Paul so they are doubling their efforts. Every time someone says they will not vote in the next election because the GOP candidate is not conservative enough just know that you have found another would-be leftist mole.

      I supported Ron Paul in the last election- but when he didn’t get the nomination, I still voted for Romney- the lesser evil. His son, now, is galvanizing true conservatives like never before- I think we got another Reagan. Moderate nominees like McCain and Romney are losers.

    This provision in the “gang of 8″ Senate bill is payback to the unions for supporting the ACA. Think about it, the unions get to support “humane” immigration reform, which usually hurts their members, but in this case it allows the unions to organize plants faster than ever. They can honestly tell people the only way to keep your full time job with benefits is to vote in the union so they can negotiate “self insured” medical benefits with the employer, taking the employer out from under the ACA, with a closed shop! Voila, US citizens keep their full time jobs,at reduced pay probably, the union controls who can be hired, and they look like heroes. This “immigration” bill ends up being the greatest union recruiting tool ever.

    the penalty only comes if the employer doesn’t provide sufficient health care coverage to the legal citizen along with employment. It seems the bill is designed to make employers give their employees decent health care coverage. I’m sure Joe could sell one of his houses to make up for the loss in being a decent employer and giving his employees the same coverage he himself has. But let’s make this about how “messed up” it is that Walmart has to actually treat their employees like human beings. It is designed to incite. How many illegals does this guy hire to do his yard work in Texas for 5 bucks an hour? I’m sure the bill couldn’t say “if you hire illegals you have to give them health care,too” that would be truly outrageous. The cutbacks only come so those at the top don’t lose + their 6+ figure salaries, anyone remember the A.I.G “bailout”?
