Some had optimistically believed that the eight-month impasse that ultimately led to President Biden signing the legislation might be the final one for Ukraine, given the current mood in the electorate heading into November’s presidential election.
We understand the logic of standing by our democratic allies, particularly when we can do so without putting boots on the ground, but what of our obligations to our own country’s internal affairs?
We support Dr. Rand Paul’s filibustering of the foreign aid bill in February… Someone needs to be the adult in the room, amidst a group of sycophantic spendaholics who each want a turn at writing another check on an overdrawn national treasury.
