All things considered, there’s a very strong case to be made that if the government is going to keep tabs on American citizens, there needs to be a warrant granting permission to do so. In Congress, this is exactly what Republican lawmakers are fighting to enact via an amendment to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Sadly, the effort to protect Americans’ privacy rights and keep big government at bay is being sabotaged by none other than Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson. To this end, GOP Sen. Rand Paul had some choice words — and a critical warning.
