Two things need to come out of this: 1. New rules about pardons. Who can do it (ie no auto pens) What it can cover. (Ie only already convicted felons the President thinks were unfairly treated and not just anyone who wants cover for all their potentially bad behavior.). And 2. Multiple checks on bureaucratic power. No one “expert” should have that much authority. Separate these guys from their funding sources and see if that doesn’t clean things up a bit.
