"Health Care" as we know it now is anything but - the only health involved is that of the bank accounts of corrupt corporate executives and politicians and the ever increasing control of the populace by people of the Socialist persuasion. And "care" - there isn't any in the traditional use of the word. We have gone down the rabbit hole!
Correct. It was a scam to address the problem using the corporations that created it. My grandfather used to give the family doctor a flat annual free. That way he and the family were focused on preventing problems. Fee for service is a lousy model unless it is an annual subscription. Payment should be for staying healthy. Sickness is failure. Preventing illness will save trillions.
This is why it would be much cheaper and cost effective to just have a government program to cover healthcare with no profit.. It would be real basic and not so good buy then people could pay on a market basis for a better level of care. This way hospitals who are forced to see everyone would get reimbursement. Then if peoole wanted above baseline care, they would go and get it on their own dime. By having Medicaid and Medicare or any other program you create a huge and wasteful bureaucracy. A flat baseline service for all paid for by a flat tax would be much more efficient because all the useless paperwork would be eliminated. Then for better service it would be pure market based. This would also provide strong incentives for staying healthy. Right now people who don't care about their health are not subsidized by those that work to stay healthy.
agree! When RFK was running he stated that there would be bipartisan support as long as private care and choice remained. This would also give private insurance real competition. That’s true capitalism, right team red? The Medicare/Medicaid program is pretty well run. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than the blood sucking private insurance. There definitely needs to be dental added and more incentives towards prevention.
Anyone should have recognized this was the plan when not a single insurance executive came out stumping against Obamacare. I waited for one of the networks to initiate an interview and even wrote several asking why not?

I was unemployed when it was passed and quickly discovered that my insurance options had actually become more expensive. At the time, I clearly remember Bill Maher who called ACA "a B J to the insurance industry." But no one else seemed to get it, and recently it seemed that Bill was defending the ACA as if even he doesn't remember what he said when it was passed. This country is hopeless.
